BCH Gym
BCH Gym offers a supervised exercise program designed to promote healthy aging and support individuals with complex health and wellbeing needs. Each participant receives a personalised exercise program tailored to their unique goals and requirements.
Before starting, participants undergo an assessment with an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, who will create their customised plan. All sessions are led by qualified health professionals, ensuring safe and effective guidance.
Getting Started
The first step to joining BCH Gym is to have an assessment with an Accredited Exercise Physiologist.
People aged 65 or older (50 years or older for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people) experiencing any of the following may be eligible for a subsidised exercise physiology assessment through My Aged Care:
- noticed a change in what you can do or remember
- been diagnosed with a medical condition or reduced mobility
- experienced a change in family care arrangements, or
- experienced a recent fall or hospital admission.
If you meet any of the above criteria, an exercise physiology assessment at Ballarat Community Health is arranged via My Aged Care referral. To register with My Aged Care call 1800 200 422.
If you are not eligible for My Aged Care a range of other subsidised assessment options are available, which can be arranged via health professional referral, by visiting a BCH reception site, or calling 53 384 500.
